Note that these packages were compiled on Slackware -current, not on Slackware 14.1.

All slack versions except the -current receive only bug fixes (ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackwar.../ChangeLog.txt), KDE 4.13 requires many dependencies to satisfy and packages to upgrade. I suggest you to try a -current version beside your, it is quite stable.

Eric

Would it be easy to compile them on Slackware 14.1 using the SlackBuilds or haven't you tried it?

No idea, be my guest. I am only creating new KDE packages for slackware-current now. If you are on Slackware 14.1 I still have KDE 4.12.5 for you.

Eric

I've been using Eric's scripts to build KDE on my laptop since 4.12. I am currently using KDE 4.13.1 on Slack 14.1 and it is rock solid stable. No issues.

Compiling from source takes a few hours on my core i5 laptop so your situation may be different depending to the type of processor you're using. Usually I download source via rsync, switch to run level 3 and start the build in the night. When I wake up in the morning, it is all done.

I must say Eric's script are flawless and have never experienced any issues with building on 14.1. Great thing about the script is that it builds and installs kde components for you.

Thanks Eric! Appreciate the work you've put into providing KDE for slack fans.

And from me, too. Running 4.12.5 on 14.1. :hattip:
