KDE 3.5 upgrade to KDE4 - did a slackpkg update - back to KDE 3.5
I upgrade my slackware 12.2 from KDE 3.5 to KDE 4.2 and then did the slackpkg update. After the update it asked if I wanted to keep the old, replace the old... I don't exactly remember which I chose but when I run startx I get KDE 3.5. Is there an easy way to get KDE 4.2 back?

I never mix packages as I care for my Slack install :-)
Anyway I think you can upgrade KDE manually, as you already did, then you can blacklist KDE on the slackpkg configuration file: /etc/slackpkg/blacklist BTW, maybe the slackpkg maintainer should reconsider renaming this file, in some countries, blacklisting is a racist term. |
