I am using Slackware 9.1 and I want to install the new kde 3.2.2.
I already installed some kde packages (kdebase, kdelib, kdeartwork), XFree86 (4.4), fam ....

When I do startx it starts te X server giving me teh message :
Could not start kdeinit. Chack your instalation.

I can also see that some errors exist:

/opt/kde/bin/startkde: line 132: 14838 Illegal instruction lnusertemp socket>/dev/null
.......................
/opt/kde/bin/startkde: line 157: 14841 Illegal instruction kreadconfig --file kpersonalizerrc --group General ....
/opt/kde/bin/startkde: line 164: 15046 Illegal instruction LD_BIND_NOW=true kdeinit +kcminit +knotify
startkde: Could not start kdeinit. Chack your instalation.

Do you know what the problem is?

Thanx.

How did you do the install? swaret, manual, konstruct, building from sources?
You probably can fix it using swaret.

I did a manual install

remove your old xf86 and qt, change with the "fresh" version (xf86 4.4.0 and qt 3.3.2) after that you can install your kde 3.2.2 (req kdebase, kdelib, and art).

goog luck
