Kate prints debug messages in Slackware 14

When launched from the command line kate prints about 85 lines of debug messages like
Code:
kate(24744)/kate-filetree KateFileTreeModel::handleEmptyParents: BEGIN!
kate(24744)/kate-filetree KateFileTreeModel::handleEmptyParents: parent ProxyItemDir(0x20fda40,0x0,-1,"m_root", children:0) grandparentProxyItemDir(0x0)
kate(24744)/kate-filetree KateFileTreeModel::setupIcon: BEGIN!
kate(24744)/kate-filetree KateFileTreeModel::setupIcon: END!
Does this happen to anyone else? I find it very annoying because the console is filled with debug lines and I can't see the previous activity.
P.S. All the messages seem to come from "kate-filetree".

I have this with many KDE apps...but I run xfce. I guess you have to live with it or ask the kate developers.
or start it using the redirectory of stdout/stderr to /dev/null
eg in csh: kate >& /dev/null

Kate produces:

I don't know about KDE4 but in KDE3/Trinity there is an app named kdebugdialog. With that app users can select the amount of stdout/stderr output from KDE apps.

Thanks. Using kdebugdialog and deselecting the kate entries the debug messages went down from 85 to 3.

Indeed a handy option I did not know about.

I have now two messages left but these come from Qt. I don't think Qt has a runtime config option for these but maybe somebody knows.

Code:
hjp1:~>	kate
QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave.
QGtkStyle was unable to detect the current GTK+ theme.
