K3b in Slack 9.1

Hi ppl
I downloaded the K3b tgz package from linuxpackages.net
and when I go installpkg in shell
I does install the k3b app. and I get an icon on my Kmenu

but when I run it, it doesn't start up
running it from shell I get this error:
k3b: error while loading shared libraries: libfam.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

anyone out there who had a similar error and fixed it!

K3B has a reasonable number of dependencies, and I don't think Slackware installs all of them by default. I'd visit the K3B site and go through the list of required software and make sure you have everything installed.

Hangdog42 is right.libfam.so.0 lib is in fam package if you don't find from linuxpackages.net then download as rpm and rpm2tgz and install it or download source and compile it.you can find details in k3b website about slackware dependencies

Did you try compiling from source? Fam is not a dependency for K3B, but the package that is built on linuxpackages.net requires it.

irfanhab go here ------> http://www.slackcare.com/cd.html I have every package K3b uses IF you want all the features, and we also ALWAYS put DOCS into our slackpacks to tell you how to get things going :-) By the way I personally build the packages and use them, and they work, and they're built correct :-)
