K3b and Slackware 13_64 bit help

I've been trying to recompile k3b with transcode. I got all the prerequisites installed from slackbuilds.org with no difficulty.

For the life of me, I can't figure out how to make use of the k3b source and the slackbuild script, and the error messages and patch file messages make my head spin. Just looking at the build script confuses me, it doesn't look anything like the sb.o .slckbuilds.

I also tried to compile k3b 1.0.5 from the old slackbuilds.org script, after installing the kde3 compatibility libraries in /extra. That went fine up to a point, until and error message popped up about Qt headers and libraries not being found.

Could someone post comprehensive instructions on how to recompile k3b with transcode support built in?

Did you read the other thread here about that?

The build script is dependent on variables used in the actual kde build script. They have one script that will start all the other scripts for KDE. So if you look in the one above the k3b directory that should give you some of the variables that you need to set. Otherwise post the errors and we can go from there.

Please post the error message. You need at least to install the following packages for ensuring the KD3 compatibility for most applications:

Code:
arts-1.5.10-i486-opt1.txz
kdelibs3-3.5.10-i486-opt1.txz
qt3-3.3.8b-i486-opt1.txz
After installing those packages, please logout from KDE and login again so that the QTDIR variable is set up properly.

Thanks... i hadn't installed the arts...txz package.

The old slackbuilds.org build script still didn't work, but i did successfully build the package by taking the official slackware 13 buildscript and source, and adding the following lines to the configure section:

--enable-ffmpeg-all-codecs

--with-k3b-debug

Having said that, i haven't actually run the program or tried to rip a dvd yet.
