I'm already this far, may as well keep going with it. Any ideas with my current situation? What could the "unknown symbol" error mean?

Gave up and went to debian. Installed the broadcom-sta-dkms package and it worked right away. Thank you all for the help you offered. I may come back to slackware at a later date, but for now I'll probably be sticking to debain.

broadcom-sta, broadcom43xx, networking, slackware 14
