when fiddling with this sort of thing and I know enough not to install both JRE and JDK (know just enough to be dangerous, eh?) -- good to be reminded, though!
OK, the Oracle JRE SlackBuild is supposed to go into /usr/lib/java
, no /jre
appended, where Oracle JDK installs JRE in .../java/jre
, got that, no problem. I'll quit worrying about it and get on with life.
And all this screwing around because of the Java problem a few weeks ago along with the release of Java 7. Cripes.
