Is this a KDE/Slackware bug? - Console Login
I changed the default runlevel from 3 to 4 (from /etc/inittab). Now when I try to do a Console Login, it kicks me out of X, hangs for a bit, then sends me back to the login screen. I finally logged in as root, changed it back to 3 and then had to reboot for it to kick in.
I had just downloaded a NVIDIA driver and was trying to sh it (I know bad joke). Since the fresh install, I've compile wine and flash player plugin, but that's it. Not sure if it is a bug or just me. Any thoughts? |
When using run level 4, logging out of X will put you back at the login screen (kdm, xdm). If you want a console, there is one at tty6. So from X, do CTRL-ALT-F6 to get there.
