Hello cola,

with Slackware I use this package: http://submax.altervista.org/index.p...-multilang.php
It comes with support for various languages and can be installed on 64- and 32bit Slackwaremachines as well.

or use http://slackbuilds.org/repository/13...penoffice.org/ to build it yourself :)

and modify the last line in openoffice.org.SlackBuild

Code:

/sbin/makepkg -c n -l y $OUTPUT/$PRGNAM-${VERSION}_${PKG_LANG}-$PKGARCH-$BUILD$TAG.${PKGTYPE:-txz}
:Pengy:

Probably the same: I use OpenOffice.org Multilanguage Builder

Robby Workman's packages are excellent, but US-English only. The script above
  • allows you to choose your language,
  • detects your architecture (32 or 64 bit),
  • downloads the appropriate RPM package from an official OOo mirror, converts it to a Slackware package and
  • installs it.

So if your language is US English, there's no real difference, both approaches work just fine. For other languages the Italian script takes a mouse click or two less. (But with Robby Workman's SlackBuild script installation is also very fast and comfortable, you just have to open it in an editor and adapt the package name to the one you want to install --- which is different for every language).
