Is their a Slackware version that is loadable enough to get started ?
I have always used Ubuntu, However it has gone down hill so fast it is not an option for me any longer!
Slackware sounds awesome to me from all the comments I've read, but there seems to be an emphasis put on using a terminal. I am not terminal experienced, that doesn't mean if I had a knowledge of the different commands used at the terminal I couldn't use it. But I would need a good book on using the terminal showing commands/structure so I would know how to enter commands and what commands to enter. I realize there is a world of knowledge here on LQ, but I sure don't want to stop and sign in to LQ to ask a simple question, and wait a day or so for answers. It would take forever!
Therefore the question: Is there a Slackware version that I could download and install on my computer that would allow me to get started (with a computer that worked) in completing the Slackware version to it's end?
Or a full working version that one could change/whatever gaining experience on the way?
Can Slackware be used in combination with another distro so I have a working computer?
If my questions don't make sense to you, don't hesitate to correct me or enlighten me to your hearts content.
