I'm just curious to know if it's possible to change the "look" of the xfce login screen (where you type your username and password)? I know you can do it in gnome, and now that I'm using xfce on my old laptop, I wondered it could be done in xfce.
Hi, the login screen is probably xdm (part of xorg, nothing to do with xfce), you are probably looking to modify that ie. add a shutdown button, I've never tried to do that but I'm sure it is perfectly possible. Alternatively try gdm, kdm or even entrance (part of the enlightenment project).
I've read a few other posts now that you've explained the difference and have heard good things about wdm, although I'm having trouble even finding where to download it... it doesn't seem to be on the Slack CDs, and a quick google search didn't turn anything up either.
I don't suppose you know where I could get hold of it?
Here is the latest prepackaged one I found, but it's quite old, slack 9.1 old! There is a link to their website which hasn't been updated since last march. It's up to you, if you like it use it!!
