iptables error

I recompiled my 2.6.6 kernel and after doing that I get the following when booting up:

Quote:
iptables v1.2.9: can't initialize iptables table `filter': iptables who? (do you need to insmod?)
There is something in my config I mistakenly altered or deleted in some way. I do have IPTABLES compiled into my kernel. What could I be missing?

I figured it out. I had iptables as a module and it wasn't loaded. After compiling it into the kernel, everything is okay. Out of curiosity, if say I wanted to keep iptables as a module, would I then have to put it in /etc/modules.conf for my rc.firewall iptables script to work without errors?

Either that, or insmod it from rc.firewall ... that's what
i do ;)

Cheers,
