Ive only had bad things come from it. such as when i sync it errases all my playlists, or it totally disregarding the id tags and renameing it to what ever it wants, and ive even had it just load the title which is what is happening to this guy

i used to use amarok and it worked ok but the best one for strictly ipod management is Floola. thats all i use now. it is a simple, no nonsense application. and its totally cross platform.

Hi, glad to see you got your iPod to mount iPod support in Amarok did not work in Slack 11 originally. However, Amarok got upgraded since then. The new version can be found in the Slackware 'patches' folder. Here's a link:

http://packages.slackware.it/package...86-1_slack11.0

I had the same problem, this version works.

Well, I never had problems like these. As far as I can tell the problem in Slackware 11 was that libgpod got upgraded from version 0.3 to 0.4 _after_ amarok was compiled. One would expect those two versions of libgpod to be compatible, as the major version number was not changed. That apparently wasn't the case.

When I ran into this problem, I only recompiled amarok (version 1.4.3, as included in Slackware, using the Slackware 11 buildscript and sources) and that made it work. To me, it seems that the problem is neither in libgpod, nor in amarok.
