hi all, I got an iPhone as a gift one day and was overjoyed that I could use it's hotspot in Windows and Ubuntu! But my favorite OS is Slackware Current and it didn't automagically work so I decided to start a thread on how to do it...
First you need to install the following in whatever way you like to do on your Slackware system. (I use sbotools)
ifuse
libhid
libimobiledevice
usbmuxd
Once all those are installed plug in your iPhone and log in as root and do the following:
Code:
mkdir -p /mnt/idevice
at this point you need to press the "Trust This Computer" button on your iPhone
then:
and log in finally as your regular user and you will have sucessfully tethered your iPhone's hotspot. (you should see the blue stripe across the top of your phone)
