ion SlackBuild fails with undefined reference to `clock_gettime'"

Has anyone tried to build ion-3 with the Slackbuild at

I have been trying using the same source as linked from and it fails with the following error:

../libmainloop/libmainloop.a(signal.o): In function `mainloop_gettime':
/tmp/SBo/ion-3-20090110/libmainloop/signal.c:56: undefined reference to `clock_gettime'
<time.h> is in the include list for signal.c and I've confirmed that the command line that generates the error includes "-lrt" which some Googling has indicated is required.

Anyone else had this error and/or corrected it?

I'm running a more or less bone stock 12.2 system.

I have built successfully
on slax6.2.0 (which is based on slackware12.2)

The slaxbuild I wrote is basically the same as a SlackBuild
as far as the building goes (make, etc.)
