internet problem


ok so one day i just used swaret and did some updates and the next day internet won't work
i tried ping and it said network unreacheble
what should i do? can anybody help me please

are you using a dhcp to connect?
have you tried re configuring your net with netconfig?
have you tried doing: ifconfig eth0 down, then ifconfig eth0 up?
dhcpcd -n?

have you tried a reboot after the swaret? Usually after a swaret, always reboot. or nothing will work.

now i've tried to see what was wrong with the connection so i tried ifconfig and it only gave me loopback so i did /sbin/dhclient-script and then my eth0 came back in ifconfig but still no internet but when i did swaret it started but it said failed failed
and ping still says nework is unreacheble
i use u di-604 router with a dhc and a dynamic ip
but i do'nt get it everything workt just fine oh and i did restore my xauth the day before but still my internet worked?

thanks it worked dhcpcd -n thank you verry much but what happend? did i do something wrong? can you tell me please i try to learn linux but this time i do not now what i did wrong

does your eth0 have an IP assigned to it now?

well...i have a similar connection , but i don't think i ever used that script ?

if you've updated things, look in the /etc dir. for files ending in " .new "
i think you have to edit and rename them to replace the existing.

and did you run " #netconfig " to set it upagain ?

i tried netconfig before but it didn't work
but now its fixed
that script is from google i've been sitting here with that prob 2 weeks now i didn't want to bother the forum and i asked it on the networking forum but noboy answerd

oh and for locating .new files i use slocate .new because i made a database its much easier
