Intel HD 4400

Hi

I'd like to buy new mobo with Intel Hasswel integrated graphics.
Eny sugestion how Intel graphics driver works on multilib both 32 and 64 bits.
There is no driver in Bob's multilib repository.
32 bits because it should work with Wine with OpenGL too.

For now I have used Nvidia propriety driver and It works OK both in 32 bit Wine on 64 bit machine .

Thanks

Sounds like you're going to be an alpha tester for whatever driver is being written. I can assure you, there is one being written somewhere.

The Intel 4400 should work at least since Mesa 9.2.0:

As Slackware 14.1 comes with Mesa 9.1.7 you would have to update this version.

I am building the latest Mesa drivers from time to time, but only for 64 -current, check out my signature.

You can use the SlackBuilds from there to build it on your own, if you don't use -current.

@business_kid

No I don't wanna be an alfa tester.

@schmatzler

Thanks . I appreciate that.
Recompile is not a problem, but will it be work , as it worked with Nvidia 32 or 64 depends on program that use it especially Wine's 32 bit programs.
Reason is simple:
I don't wanna buy another graphics card for that or downgrade /reinstall/ Slack to 32 bits only not multilib.

I'm using the Intel 4600 integrated graphics with the Haswell i5-4440 CPU and those are working great with stock Slackware 14.1 64-Bit.

Regards.

+1

using Intel i7-4770 in a Shuttle Z87 mobo with stock Slackware64 14.1
Did not load any special drivers, it just worked straight out the box (efi setup was fun though)

@PrinceCruise

Glad to hear that .

3D OpenGL works too ?

IF it works I may simply use compat32 script to repack Intel 32bit driver and voila with Wine :-)

Thanks

Hi

Finally I bought budget MOBO Gigabyte H81-S2PV with Haswell Pentium 3420 with HD Graphics .
Everything works OK on multilib 14.1 especially wine's 3d 32 bit after several changes and custom cooked kernel.
This HD is better than my old Nvidia GT 7300 :-)
