Unhappy installpkg not working?


when i use installpkg it always tells me it cant open the package because itdoesnt end in tgz,when the packages im trying to open do end in tgz.
mainly im trying to install slackpkg.can anyone help with this.

what package did you want to install?

Make sure you're using the full name, as root do:

i tried the full path,and it gave me the same message,cannot open pkg,pkg does not end in tgz,?????it does end in tgz,maybe i have to reinstall the installpkg,of course i dont know how to do that as im new to slackware,and i havent got the slackware book i ordered,so im relying on the forums.

Sometimes, for some weird reason it helps me if I move the package to another folder and try from there when I get that message about package not ending with .tgz. I have no idea why, but it cant hurt to try... It may be something else I have missed, but I feel like I always will be a . Also, Im a lazy b*stard mostly using Kpackage for preventing typo´s.

well moving the file didnt work,so i pasted the location and that worked where is slackpacage i cant find it?
