Question Installing Slackware from a USB

I created a bootable USB using iso image of slackware 13.1 (By using Universal USB installer). Now when I run setup, how do I choose the source of installation as USB drive? I suppose that can be done.

First, manually mount the USB partition somewhere in a directory that you created, then run setup, there you select "pre-mounted directory" as the SOURCE of your packages to install.

I am slightly confused here . Which directory? Do I have to create a directory? How?

As you can guess, I am new to this type of installation. So I request you to elaborate what you have written.

I guess what AlienBOB means is that you could boot from the usb stick, mkdir /mnt/usb, mount your usb stick to that dir and point the installer to install the packages from eg. /mnt/usb/slackware which holds the packages.

OKAY. Will try that. One more question - are ALL of the installation files contained in the folder "slackware" only, or are there some other as well?

Well, Now that I have got my DVD drive working, I think I'll use that option only. Thanks for all the help anyway
