Installing pulseaudio (steam) - json not found?

Hello there, I'm trying to install steam on slackware but I'm camping with the following issue:

When installing pulseaudio (with slackbuilds) I get the following message:

Quote:
checking for LIBJSON... no
configure: error: Package requirements ( json >= 0.9 ) were not met:

No package 'json' found

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables LIBJSON_CFLAGS
and LIBJSON_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.
JSON-C 0.9 IS installed (I used the AlienBOB's ftp because the original json host is way to slow or times out).

Any idea's?

Thanks!

Trying to compile pulseaudio on 64-bit Slackware perhaps? In that case the json-c package I have in http://www.slackware.com/~alien/slac...amclient/deps/ is not going to help you since it contains only the 32-bit binaries required by the Steam client. For 64-bit pulseaudio binaries, you have to have a 64-bit json-c package installed first.

If you are going to use some of my packages anyway, why are you still compiling another part of the stuff then?

I'm new to slackware (fairly new to linux) and I was experimenting with sbopkg, slapt-get, etc.
The fact that it could've been 32bit didn't cross my mind.

I'll try to use your pulseaudio build, thanks

EDIT: Now I have the following issue:
Quote:
bash-4.2# steam
/root/.local/share/Steam/steam.sh: line 286: /root/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam: No such file or directory
/root/.local/share/Steam/steam.sh: line 286: /root/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam: No such file or directory

That seems to me that you did not make your system a multilib system. Since Steam is a 32 bit application this is needed. You can find the instructions for going multilib on AlienBob's site also.
