Installing printer on Slack 9.0
 

Hello guys...i need help on how to install a printer on Slack 9.0 box. I've already tried using the KDE Printing Manager to setup my printer, but it didn't work. I really need help here because i need to print some document.

My printer is Epson LX-800 (it's an old Dot Matrix printer).

and one more thing...i use OpenOffice.org 1.1 to create my document so can my printer works on printing OpenOffice document...that's all

I've allready visit www.linuxprinting.org but it seems that my LX-800 were not listed in the supported printer. But when i use KDE Printing Manager on the list driver for LX-800 were listed...but it's not working i've already tried this many time and it still didn't work. Any sugestions...please...

drivers were listed eh?

restart the print daemon

something like

/sbin/service lpd restart

I've got RH
so the actual command may vary

I'm using LPRng...and btw what is the different between CUPS and LPRng...and which one is better..??
