installing packages from cdrom
 

installing packages from cdrom?

I have slackware installed, but now I want to install some additional packages from the cdrom. Isn't there some utility to help me do this?

mount the cdrom (at /mnt/cdrom say). cd to /mnt/cdrom and whichever directory the packages are in. You can use pkgtool (best if there are a number of packages in the one directory you wish to install) or simply installpkg and the .tgz package file name.
