Installing Kernel Sources...

I'm a n00b with slack.... I just want to recompile my kernel so i can use the Orinoco(or what every) driver so i can use the internet.

But then.... i don't have the kernel sources installed....

Can somebody write me a guide of something to install kernel source?

You'll either want to pop in the Slackware CD and mount it, then cd to /whereverthe/cdismounted/slackware/k/ then installpkg whatever the name of the source file is.tgz ... if you don't have the CD you can grab the source from a place like ftp.slackware.com or http://slackware.at/data/

I burnt a CD with the ISO, but then the CD doesn't have the K package.

The original slack 9 CD I burned was from my -current archive that I have been keeping, and for some reason didn't have anyhting in the K series as well...I found this odd, so I downloaded it and reburnt the CD and I was fine.

Here is the link you will need to get if you want the kernel sources... http://www.slackware.at/data/slackwa...0-noarch-5.tgz

If you want the latest kernel stuff check www.kernel.org

Hope this helps
