Installed SalixOS (Slack 13); how do I "build aufs and squashfs modules to kernel "??

I'm trying to use Linux Live scripts to make a livecd/usb of my installed system

I have never "patched" a kernel
can anyone tell me the procedure??

it says I need to
Quote:
Build aufs kernel module and squashfs kernel module (optionally patched to support LZMA)
so, how do i do that??

I fail to see how Salix is equal to Slackware.

The documentation to the Linux Live scripts and that of aufs (http://aufs.sourceforge.net/ lists the steps in great detail) should be your guide in patching your kernel source for aufs (and/or patch the squashfs module for LZMA compression).

I just had a look and the website is easy to navigate, the thing I found most useful was the list of dependencies for each Slackware Package, and they also have a good range of pre-packaged programs. I haven't tried any, they do not do 64-bit, so I cannot say if they are compatible.

However, I still dont know how to "build" or "patch" a kernel
never did that..

my other problem now is that puppy somehow fried my monitor
as it will only go to 800x600 after booting puppy
and changed all my systems xorg.conf's so its all 800x600!

you know what
all that seems a bit daunting to me..

I think I'm gonna install Linvo or maybe Eeebuntu and recreate a livecd from there
as both are made with LLS, and therefore will already have aufs and squashfs support

I'll look further into LLS, but seriously there are no definitive "how-to's" for
LLS.

hmmm...
if you want to recreate a liveCD you can check GoblinX distro, it comes in 4flavours(standard,mini.. etc) and I think it has a build in app to create a liveCD/USB using as base GoblinX....

(which is based on Slackware and LLS )
