Installed firefox 2, but in a different languages, help

Hi,

Sorry, another newbie here, a little bit shamed to ask this question,

I download the firefox 2 tgz file from www.linuxpackages.net, and installed on my slackware 11 successfully, but when I executived it, and found out it was in a total different language, which is not readible for me..

Can someone help me to fix this issue, please?

please understand that I can't read anything on the tool bar of firefox right now.. really don't know where the "option" or "tools" is.....where to find the language option..

thanks in advance.

Mark

Can you actually change the language in Firefox. I was pretty sure that there is one Firefox for every different language. At least that is how it looks like on their Firefox download page.

Anyway, I would recommend you to remove that package, go to firefox homepage and grab a linux version with your desired language. All you have to do is to unpack Firefox and run the firefox.sh file. No need install things here or there or run this or that command ^_^;;

A better solution was to download Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.3 from an official mirror ftp://slackware.cs.utah.edu/pub/slac...irefox-2.0.0.3 Then type:
Code:
upgradepkg mozilla-firefox*.tgz
To change the language: Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Languages > Choose ... > Select an language to add ...

Use the official Slackware Firefox 2.0.0.3 package which is available in /slackware-11.0/extra/ on any Slackware mirror or under "Packages" on the Slackware web site.

That is indeed a better solution. Ignore my suggestion. If there is an official package available and from Slack's page, use that one

www.linuxpackages.net hosts the Bulgarian version of Firefox apart from the English one.
