Installation probs with Slackware 11

Howdy,

I'm trying to install Slackware 11 on my virtual drive with VMware Workstation. i'm stuck on making partitions...

it's a virtual drive of 8 gb...

when i put this in the command 'fdisk /dev/hda'
it's giving me the feedback: 'unable to open /dev/hda'

it's like slackware only detected the CD-rom in VMWare Workstation.

please .... help....

Did you set up an IDE drive or a SCSI drive? Trying to access /dev/hda means that you should have set it up as IDE and VMWare should report it as IDE 0:0 - is that what happens? If not, are you using SCSI...

Can't help but I'm having similar problems. Everthing works fine if the virtual machine is created with an IDE drive. However use a SCSI drive and cdfisk and fidsk can't pick it up, even when scsi.s(or any of the other kernels) is used to boot the CD.
