Wink Installation of Kaffeine in Slackware 12.0

Kaffeine

Kaffeine dependencies

By trial and error method I succeded to install Kaffeine in
Mandrake 2008.0

Unfortunatelly the Hardisk hdb stopped to work. The Mandrake
distro was installed on that Hd.

The Kaffeine installation was made by trial and error method.
I use Kaffeine for looking at Terrestial Digital Tv. When
installed the Combination ALL FOR ONE indoor antenna and
Hauppauge WinTv HVR1100 works well together.

Due to the bad behavior of /dev/hdb i am eager to get
Kaffeine to work within Slackware 12.1 distro at
/dev/hda4.

Welcome to Slackware,

An invaluable source of additional packages for Slackware (I mean software not provided with the distro) is :

www.slackbuilds.org

For Kaffeine on Slackware 12.1, here's the direct link:

http://www.slackbuilds.org/repositor...edia/kaffeine/

Slackbuilds are scripts to build Slackware packages that you'll later install using the package management tools (installpkg/upgradepkg/removepkg).

I visited http://www.slackbuilds.org/repositor...edia/kaffeine/

I just downloaded kaffeine.tar.gz when i opened it and tar:ed
a new directory kaffeine appeared.
I do not understand what can be done with that content:

bash-3.1$ cd Desktop/kaffeine
bash-3.1$ ls
README kaffeine.SlackBuild kaffeine_locale.patch
doinst.sh kaffeine.info slack-desc
bash-3.1$

There seems to be a lot missing. By that I must ask, do it
means that every paket must be downloaded and opened?

There is a good page on this site.
Actually, you'll need to read this.
