Install troubles
i'm trying to install slackware8.1 (had so much trouble even getting 9.0 to work)
towards the end of the installation process, it asks me if i want to setup a root password, so i select yes. then i get this error: chroot: cannot execute /usr/bin/passwd: no such file or directory aftewards, i'm forced to select No to setting up a root password, then it doesn't run the lilo setup like i thought it would any ideas why my system is messing up even before i have it running? :D thanks in advance |
Where did you get the CD? Check to make sure the CD isn't bad first.... I had this happen when i installed on a system that had bad ram once, it gave me package errors too but only sometimes... check the ram also, and if all that fails check the CDROM drive as well.
