Install Slack 11 on ICH7R Intel Storage Matrix
My computer has 2x 320GB SATA disks in it. I have used the on-board Intel Storage Matrix Configuration utility on my motherboard (Asus P5LD2 Deluxe) to create a raid0 volume and a raid1 volume. The raid0 volume has 2 partitions on it and I want to install Slackware 11 to one of them. How would I do this?
I have tried booting the installer with various kernels including huge26.s which apparently has ICH7 support. In all cases, my disks are detected and linked as /dev/sda and /dev/sdb, but it doesn't seem to recognize the raid volumes and cfdisk is naturally giving out rather cryptic messages when I try to open either disk's partition table.
Is it at all possible to install Linux to an Intel storage matrix type of setup? Where would raid volumes normally be located in the /dev tree?
