install question
I've been playing with Linux (RH9) for a couple of months now and I've decided to look at some other distros. I downloaded Slack 9.1 but now I'm trying to figure out how to get it installed (no CD burner). I know I'll need to repartition the drive and I feel pretty comfortable doing that with Parted.
I believe this is what I need to do:
1. Create some new partitions and make one of them bootable with Slack. I'm not sure how to make the new partition bootable. BTW my bootloader is Grub.
2. Install Slack from the existing partition where I downloaded it. This seems like it should be easy, but I'm not sure how to go about it. It seems like most of the install instructions assume you are installing from a CD.
If I'm totally off track with this please let me know. My newbie status is painfully obvious! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
