Install NE2000 NIC...
I have a D-Link DE-220CT NIC...
modprobe returns error when I use this: modprobe ne io=340 irq=11 Quote:
Something that I've forgot? The "ne.o.gz" file exist, so does the "isa-pnp.o.gz". Thanks in advance. |
First of all are you sure thats the io and irq of the card? I've dealt with wayyy too many of those cards and you have to be on the nose about them.

They say 0x340 or 0x300. The only IRQ that I've found is 10. But to me it seems that the problem lays somewhere else. Or? Update: http://etherboot.sourceforge.net/db/...&vendor=D-Link I've tried it all but it seems that the problem lays somewhere else. |
By the way...
I'm using the lowmem.i kernel. |
Have you run pnpdump? What is the output?

one way is that if you have a windows machine, plug the network adapter into it, let windows probe it, and record the IRQ and IO. :p

I've heards that someone else with the DE-220 card also have problems with it in Linux but not in Windows. Maybe I have to re-compile the kernel with NE2000 support? |
I downloaded a diagnostic tool from D-Link.
DE-220CT (Rev. C1) I/O Address = 0x320 IRQ = 5 Works? YES. So the card is fine, something wrong inside Linux, missing file or something? |
I find it very odd that no one in here understands the error message that I get.
Some of you seem to have lots of experience but after this it seems that you know just as much as me, if not less. I'm really disappointed. |
