Install custom kernel for Slackware during 1st installation
I have HP nx7400 series laptop and I want to install Slackware 11 on it. Apparently I need to install 18.104.22.168 kernel in order not to suffer from so-called "bad state" problem, which means that after each reboot or shutdown I will suffer from some BIOS and ACPI related problems. As far as I understood from Slackbook, when I install Slackware for the first time I cannot use kernel from usb memory stick. My question is: How can I use a kernel which is not included in the distribution? Can I somehow install it from usb-pendrive or separate none-install CD or may be from internet or local network? Any help or other solution is greatly appreciated.
