LinuxQuestions.org - Inspiron 6000 CPU Frequency Control Issues

I just tried setting up cpufreqd on my Inspiron 6000 in Slackware 10.2. I believe I have compiled all the necesarry kernel components and I installed cpufreqd from swaret.

My /etc/cpufreqd.conf is :

I have made sure that I have cpufreqd starting up when I boot up, the command is in my rc.local file. I even double checked when I logged in by running "ps ax" and making sure cpufreqd showed up.

I was just running Freerock GNOME while my laptop was running off the battery and the CPU Frequency monitor applet said it was running at 2GHz the entire time. I was not doing anything CPU intensive. In fact, most of the time I had a Firefox window and Gaim over and nothing else. The monitor in GNOME never showed the CPU Frequency change at all.

Is my cpufreqd.conf wrong or does anyone have any other ideas as to what may be wrong?
