Inside Pat's mind

First of all, I don know if this source of information already exists.
So my idea is that the developers of Slackware can have something like a blog were they can point new trends for Slackware, or what they think that should be added, stuff like that.

I don't want time lines, or road maps, nothing like that. I know the Slackware law is the Patrick law. But I would like a pick in the mind of Pat.

may be you should just follow the changelog?

That's an interesting idea, however I think the absence of a 'slackware blog' can best be explained by a little Slackware history. Do you know why the official Slackware forums are hosted at LinuxQuestions.org and not at Slackware.com? The story most of us have heard is that Pat has said that he would rather spend time maintaining the distro than spend time trying maintaining a forum-style website. If you've ever tried to maintain a forum website, you know how much work it takes. That's the story we've all heard and I, for one, would rather he work on Slackware and leave the forum in Jeremy's capable hands. It is my suspicion that there isn't a blog for the exact same reason.

That being said, it bears mentioning that Eric (AlienBob) maintains/updates a Slackware-centric blog where he discusses his repository of packages/scripts as well as some of the challeneges of maintaining and updating Slackware. I highly recommend it: Alien Pastures

Crashbox is probably right, though I'd say it's not so much the time maintaining a blog than the time it would take to write posts that is the issue.

Pat has a twitter feed. Don't expect much action from it though: rss.

Slackware Linux is a powerful Operating System - fact.
Blogs are used to broadcast ideas - opinions.

Facts are sacred and opinions are cheap.

The secret of good comedy is timing. Clearly the release of RC1 *now* is the optimal lulz moment for detonation of the '13.2' thread and the 'Pat's Mind' thread :D

If Pat's mind is similar to mine, there are lots of unicorns, rainbows, keystone cops, buster-chaplin-keaton-stooges, and a baby's arm, holding an apple.

No wait, that's not my mind, that's my neighbour's.

What was the question?
