Insert "Next Disk" issue. Disk #3???
 

Went to install the newest version 11.0 from CD ISO and got a weird request.

I was told to install "Next Disk," but that would mean a Disk 3. There is no Disk 3.

Any ideas?

11.0 isn't out yet!
You're possibly using the wrong boot/root disk image when you create the CD.

View changelog on the Site. It is 11.0.0 as of today.

That's 11.0.0 RC1. Not a final release yet!

Could it be install.2 disk?

"install.1, install.2: These are the Slackware installation disks, used to install Slackware Linux to its own partition. To load the installer from floppy disk, you'll need to write each to these to a floppy disk, and use a bootdisk to load them."

Check the CD's you burned to see if one of the package groups is missing. You should have the following at the very least.

(a, ap, d, e, f, k, kde, (kdei*), l, n, t, tcl, x, xap, y)

I'm not certain where the installer gets the list of available groups manifest.bz2, FILE_LIST, or PACKAGES.TXT, but check these as well to see if there are groups listed that were not included or maybe extra groups.

The only reason I can think that the installer would ask for another CD is if you requested a group to be installed that was not on either CD 1 or 2.

Installed 11rc1 the other day and remember that point of the installation. To my understanding it was giving the user the option to install another disk or not. Maybe it could have been presented better but doesn't seem to be a problem.
