Included programs in Slackware
Now that I have my cd-rw working I am wondering if Slackware comes with any tools to convert mp3's to audio-cd files so i can make my fiance some music to drive to work with...Is there some sort of list of programs that come with slackware so I know exactly what programs I have to work with? It seems I have a metric ton of stuff but since I don't know what it is, it might as well not even be there.

On the install cds there is a 'filelist.txt'. As far as what they do, google is a good friend.
Also, look through /usr/doc. many docs in there. Plus, you get to find some real cool programs. |
If you want to do things manually, check out http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/html_single/MP3-CD-Burning/ . If you want to do things graphically, install k3b from one of the Slackware mirrors. It can be found in /extra.
If you want to find a program on your system, but aren't sure what you are looking for, "man -k" can be useful. |
thanks for the replies, checking out /usr/doc was a great idea, I've already found some cool things I didn't know I had. And thanks for the mp3 howto, I love knowing how to do things from the command-line.
