This is still a nightmare for me whenever I try using some console based application I don't know how to get out of. PITA!!

Slackware packaging for hammer is largely irrelevant until it's implemented in the kernel.

This won't be the first time that kernel modules were provided/available that weren't delivered with the standard kernel. I can think of the squashfs with lzma as an example. So thinking that we have to have them included in distributed kernels, makes no sense. And I made no claim of this being an official project. No one else is inclined to think it is either.

I think it will be wiser to wait and see what Matt Dillon is willing to contribute to this, before anyone has a reasonable basis for passing judgment.
