This won't be the first time that kernel modules were provided/available that weren't delivered with the standard kernel. I can think of the squashfs with lzma as an example. So thinking that we have to have them included in distributed kernels, makes no sense. And I made no claim of this being an official project. No one else is inclined to think it is either.
I think it will be wiser to wait and see what Matt Dillon is willing to contribute to this, before anyone has a reasonable basis for passing judgment.
