identifying config options for kernel modules

Hi,

When compiling a kernel, is there an easy way to find out which config option corresponds to a given module if you know the module's name? For example, if you know you need the pcspkr module, how can you find out which option will build it (I know the answer to that particular one, but I use it as an example)?

Thanks,
Brian

I don't know if there is an elegant way, but this will give you a rough indication:

Code:
# cd <your_kernel_source_tree>
# find . -name Kconfig -exec grep -H -C 10 <your_module> {} \;
The 10 lines of context are usually enough to spot the kernel config option associated with the module.

Also, if you use 'make menuconfig' press the '/' key to search.

Cool, H_TexMex_H, I never knew that (I always use menuconfig).

Welcome back, BTW.
