Update...

Ok so I dumped the idea of using ide-scsi to burn cds... so I recompiled my kernel ... took out everything scsi related... and edited my /etc/fstab/ back to normal...

Then after I rebooted out of the blue k3b sees my burner in IDE mode, and I am now burning a CD without ide-scsi... YaY...

I only use a 4x burner and it seems to do that fine....
