Because I finally upgraded to 13.1. I always procrastinate and when I finally get around to it the next release comes within a month.
Perhaps. I greatly appreciate the fact that the Slackware Team does not feel constrained by an artificial time table. As always Slackware 13.2 will be released when it is ready.
I know, that's partly why I wait so long, I know a newer/better release will come sometime soon, but then I get tired of waiting and as soon as I upgrade it comes.
I had to this weekend though, lilo would just fill the screen with 99's and I figured since I had to plug the dvd drive in I may as well just update.
I don't usually power down but I have the bad battery in my netbook from when my wife dropped hers and it won't hold a charge so I can't just let it sit in suspend while we drove to my parents.
I don't think KDE 4.6 will be included in 13.2 since they are moving away from HAL and most distros (including Slackware) is not ready to leave HAL behind. Some packages still required HAL as their mandatory dependecies. Probably in 14.0 we will see a real HAL-free Slackware release.
I'm actually quite liking KDE 4 in --current at the moment. Granted I have a brand new, beefy computer, so having it idle at 600 mbs ram isn't that bad, but it's a lot more stable.
I'm also working on crafting a fvwm2 setup.. It's a lot of work but its pretty bad ass.
Not on the laptop, that stuff is turned off, along with the reminder app. On my desktop, KDE weighs in at ~1.4GiB usage.
KDE4 is still a little slow on that laptop (1.7mhz 512MiB Nvidia 440go), but highly usable. The Girlfriend likes KDE - it's shiny Different strokes for different folks. I mainly use my CR-48 for portable computing now.
I'll second that. It's far superior to KDE 4.5. They've finally made activities completely usable, and they've fixed most of the functionality issues that existed in 4.4/4.5 Kaddressbook. The Hal thing is not a showstopper; KDE 4.6 will run alongside Hal.
Edited to add: it also out-performs KDE 4.5, which was a considerable improvement over 4.4 in that regard. I'm also hoping that the next Slackware features Koffice 2.3; I'm running the release candidate and the improvement over 2.2 is nothing short of startling.

I like/use KDE4, I just like Xfce, Fluxbox, and e17 better.
