"i don't have make module"

Hi!
I am trying to install ati drivers for my ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 graphics card on my Acer Aspire 5100 Laptop running Slackware 12.2.

After issuing the following command -

Quote:
# sh ati-driver-installer-9-3-x86.x86_64.run --buildpkg Slackware/All
the command abruptly ends with the error message "i don't have the make module".

Can anyone suggest what might be causing this and how to overcome this?

Thanking in advance,

It looks like that's a 64-bit package (x86_64) and Slack 12.2 is 32-bit only. Are you sure you downloaded the correct file?

I think the driver is the same for both 64-bit and 32-bit architecture as is evident from x86.x86_64 in the file name.

was there a solution to this? I have same error message trying to build ati driver in slack 13 (for 32bit).

I noticed my card (X300) has gone into legacy support, maybe its something to do with that, not supported on latest kernels?

here is the end of the build message
Code:
make[2]: *** [/root/fglrx-install.qvwmKa/common/lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod/2.6.x/firegl_public.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [_module_/root/fglrx-install.qvwmKa/common/lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod/2.6.x] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.29.6'
make: *** [kmod_build] Error 2
build failed with return value 2
ERROR: i don't have make module
Removing temporary directory: fglrx-install.qvwmKa

What video card do you have and what version driver are you attempting to install?

fglrx 9.3 will not work on Slackware 13. It requires both an older X server and an older kernel. If you must use fglrx, you will need to use an older linux distribution. The open source drivers do provide 2D and 3D acceleration for your GPU, however.
