Ubuntu does it well.

My both Slack and Ubuntu use the same latest
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so plugin.

No problem with youtube, etc.

Errors?
No problem here.
Perhaps some plugin in firefox, like noscript...?
Try another browser?

doesnt flash player square install flash ,to /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/ if your using a 64 bit operating system check out flash player square.

Works fine here too (using latest Google Chrome with built-in flash plugin).

The key is in allowing my $home/.macromedia/Flash_Player directory to be write-accessible.
I blocked it once from writing by anyone in order to raise my privacy online.
