Do you want to just use fluxbox for now, or do you want it to be your default whenever you type "startx"?

For runlevel 3:
http://www.slackbook.org/html/book.h...STEM-XWMCONFIG

Runlevel 4 lets you choose Fluxbox from a menu.

If you want to try it out but keep KDE your default, you can use

ctrl+alt+backspace

to kill X and go back to the shell, then type:

startfluxbox

to start it, if you want it to be your default from now on, though type:

xwmconfig

as root, and select xinitrc.fluxbox, this will make it so when you type:

startx

it defaults to fluxbox

If you boot to the KDE login manager, you can simply choose Fluxbox as another session type and log in.
The menus and shortcuts will require a bit of setup, though - you will probably have to fiddle with the configuration files.

I did a presentation on Fluxbox for my local lug. You can download the presentation here. Flux is my window manager of choice on all my computers.

The handout shows some of the major configuration options and contains a list of helpful resources at the end.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Fluxbox.
