Hi BrianL
Wishing to clap you! - I was supposing that is the right solution but before applying it I have been searching for news and I found your message. Simple and sweet
On my new machine I have been installing Slackware 13.37 KDE 32 bit (My Love), using Lilo for the first time; adding Ubuntu, after failing with "initrid" section, I wrote down your suggestion and Ubuntu starts.
It is Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 32 bit, I have been installing "Grub 2" on the partition, don't need to reinstall it, just adding the lines, like this:
Quote:
# Linux bootable partition config begins
image = /boot/vmlinuz-generic-smp-2.6.37.6-smp
initrd = /boot/initrd.gz
root = /dev/sda1
label = Linux-GKSMP
read-only
# Linux bootable partition config ends
other = /dev/sda3
label = Linux-Ubuntu
|
-(First section starts Slackware with Generic Kernel SMP; the second one, Ubuntu).
-(After working with "lilo.conf I run # lilo -v).
Cheers!
