hplip 3.9.2 missing DeskJet printer ppd's (-current)

I have noticed the hplip package in -current is missing the DeskJet ppds
(hplip-3.9.2-i486-2)

This is strange because the DeskJet ppds are found the source tarball for 3.9.2. I don't have time to figure out why it didn't get into the package. Compare with slackware 12.2's package.

The ppd should be automatically generated with the new version of hplip (plus cupsddk) if our (my) understanding is correct. In other words, if the printer is supported by hplip, it should still show up as an option when you're setting up the printer.

Robby, you are correct about cupsddk being required. cupsddk needs to be installed with hplip for deskjet printer support to appear in the printer list now. When I installed cupsddk and reinstalled the printer (now being able to see it again), the ppd is now generated into /etc/cups/ppd.

Thanks, rworkman. I needed the same thing. After upgrading to 12.2 my Deskjet printers couldn't be found by hplip. Until now I worked around it by disabling hplip and using the web browser.
