HP LaserJet 1000 & Slackware 9.1

ok, so i did a clean install of Slackware 9.1, fluxbox as my Window manager

during boot up, hotplug looks for plug and play (whatever) and when it gets to printers, i get a nice scroll of "usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout" (usually 100+ times)(sometimes making me have no access to slackware) only when the printer is connected (usb), there is a driver for it, i installed it but when i went to the cups page in mozilla, it lists it when selecting the device but when i goto make/model it isnt there

being that it wont let me into slackware now, i cant post much info untill i can get booted back into slack9.1

any ideas much appreciated
