HP 4-in-1 card reader

Hey guys. I thought I'd give getting my 4-1 card reader to work (smartmedia, mmc/ds, compactflash and ms/ms pro), I have no idea where to start though It's an hp pavilion t450 pc, and the reader is built in to a floppy sized drive bay below the fdd itself. I Don't know if this helps either?

Nothing relevant showing. My NEC laptop has a 4in1 from ENE technogy which is not detected by the 2.4.26 kernel and does not have any Linux support. Most laptops are now OEMed in Taiwan and some of their chip makers have very limited English language support.

How about trying
tail -f /var/log/messages
and then plugging in a card to see what spits out.
