howto no scan /dev/hdg on boot with lilo

Well as the topic says, is there anyway i can get my system to not scan for /dev/hdg when it boots up? That port is for my 2nd sata connection on my mobo and i do not have a hard drive hooked up to that port and being there is nothing there, when it trys to scan it takes about 2min or so to try and scan for something and it's really annoying as it takes so long to boot up now that it does that. I know there is an option as a friend fixed it for me awhile back when i was new to linux. but now that i really dont' want to keep going to him for help. Can someone help me out with this?

Sorry to say man it has nothing to do with the fstab file. As i did finally figure it out.
All i had to do was add this line to my /etc/lilo.conf file and run lilo as root
Append = "hdg=noprobe"
Thats all it took. Thanks anyways.
