HOWTO install Slackware 8.1 with 2.4.19 kernel
 

I need help installing Slackware 8.1 with kernel 2.4.19 instead of the 2.4.18 on the disc. The reason for this is that kernel 2.4.19 supports my raid chip (Promise PDC20276) on my Asus A7V333 mobo.

I'm new to Linux although I have tried Redhat before but this wasn't on my main comp. So I decided I want to learn Linux now and at the same time try another distro. Therefore im going for slackware this time on my main comp.

But the question is:

How do I get Slackware to start the install of Slackware 8.1 with the 2.4.19 kernel so that it detects my hdd:s properly?

Please describe how to do this as much as possible

well you can't... you need to install the system and then recompile a kernel. read the kernel-howto at tldp.org
